He Is Working Behind The Scenes

TGIF!!! Teach us, O Lord, the disciplines of patience, for to wait is often harder than to work. God's timing is perfect in everything.

While you are waiting, perhaps wondering why God doesn't seem to be acting on your behalf, remember that he's working behind the scenes to prepare His moment of intervention at just the right time.

Trust Him. He knows what time it is.
( when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son. Galatians 4:4 ).
Have a blessed day.

Are We Attending Church Or Are We Following Christ?

Good Thursday morning. How will I meet with Christ today? Sometimes we put off meeting with God in the same way. We turn into convenient, Sunday Christians or consider ourselves Christian because we were born into Christian families. But Christian living is a matter of how we integrate Christ into everyday life. It is interpreting for others the truth of Christ by the way we live.

It is continuing in a life-long relationship with Christ, growing and developing and discovering facets of the true Christian life. It is surrender of self, allowing God to shape, mold, guide, and change us. It is inviting Christ to be Lord in our minds and bodies and souls. There is no better life than living a Christian life.

( One does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God. Matthew 4:4 ).
 Have a great day.

Whether Visible Or Invisible God Is In Control

Good Wednesday morning. God is always in control behind the scenes. God can operate outside the odds because He is all powerful.

Nothing is too hard for Him. The one who loves us and gave Himself for us is in charge of our lives.
In ordinary circumstances and impossible situations, God can reveal His power. Whether we are showered with success or sustained in sorrow, He is with us.

( we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. 2 Corinthians 4:18 ).

His Plan Is Bigger And Better

Good Tuesday morning. Let God direct or redirect your steps. I tend to get stuck in my ways, so anything that diverts me from my routines and plans can be very annoying. Worse yet, life's diversions are sometimes unsettling and painful.

God knows that He often needs to divert us in order to make more of our lives than we would have if we had stuck to our original plans. We can trust God's greater plans as He does His far better work in the history of our lives.

( My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways. Isaiah 55:8 ).

Beware! Wolf In A Sheep Suit!

Good Monday morning. Substitutes abound, but there is only one Christ. False teachers do not bear fruit of God's Spirit. Rather they "walk according to the flesh....and despise authority." They are bold, egotistical, and given to greed. Ruled by their own desires, they exploit people by using deceptive words.

The Bible says these wayward spiritual leaders are headed for destruction and will take many unsuspecting and  non discerning people with them. Jesus, the Good Shepherd, rather than pursuing personal gain, laid down His life for His sheep. God does not want anyone to be misled by false teaching. He wants us to be aware of those who deceive us, and to follow Him because He is the true Shepherd of our souls.

( Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. Matthew 7:15 ).
 Have a blessed day.

He Loved Us First

Good Sunday morning. God's Word tells us of His love; our words tell Him of our love. In the Song of Solomon the bride describes her lover.

His love is better than wine and more fragrant than ointments. His name is sweeter than anything in this world. There is Someone far greater than any earthly loved one, Someone whose love is also better than wine. His love satisfies our every need.

His "fragrance" is better than any perfume because when He gave Himself for us, His sacrifice became a sweet-smelling aroma to God. Finally, His name is above every name. It is a privilege to love Jesus. It is the best experience in life. Do we take the time to tell Him so? Do we express with words the beauty of our Savior?
If we show His beauty with our lives, others will say, "No wonder you love Him!"

( We love Him because He first loved us. 1 John 4:19 ).
 Have a blessed day.

Purpose Not Position

Good Saturday morning. Resentment comes from looking at others; contentment comes from looking at God. I at times want the place at "God's table" that someone else has, even though I know all good things come from the same source; God, and His supply is limitless and will never run out.

Since God can prepare a table for us in the presence of our enemies, why be concerned that someone else might have the station in life that we want? When we recognize the importance of our work as ministers of the grace of God, we'll stop fighting to take over someone else's position and be grateful for the place God has given us to serve others on His behalf.

( God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work. 2 Corinthians 9:8 ).

 Have a blessed day.

He Is My Song

Good Friday morning. Faith in God's goodness puts a song in the heart. Everyone touched by a piece of music hears it differently.

The composer hears it with the chambers of his imagination. The audience hears it with their senses and emotions. The members of the orchestra hear most clearly the sound of the instruments closest to them. So, in a sense, we are the members of God's orchestra.

Often we hear only the music closest to us. Maybe today you can hear only sad notes played by your own violin. Don't lose heart. Every detail in your life is part of God's composition. Or perhaps you are listening to a cheerful flute. Praise God for it and share your joy with someone else. God's masterpiece of redemption is the symphony we are playing, and ultimately everything will work together for His good purposes. God is the composer of our lives. His song is perfect, and we can trust Him.

( The Lord God is my strength and my song. Isaiah 12:2 ). Have a blessed day.

Jesus Is The Fountain

Good Thursday morning. Jesus is the only fountain who can satisfy the thirsty soul. Some people struggle to accept that salvation is a gift. They want to do something to earn it. The problem is, no one can afford it. The price of salvation is perfection, and Jesus is the only person who can pay the price.

To anyone who thirsts, He promises to "give of the fountain of the water of life freely." Some people try to purchase the living water of salvation with good deeds and charitable donations. Although these are forms of spiritual service valued by God, they are not what God requires for the forgiveness of our sins.

Jesus already paid the price by dying in our place, and he offers to quench our spiritual thirst when we drink freely from God's fountain that will never run dry.

( Through one Man's righteous act the free gift came to all men. Romans 5:18 ). Have a blessed day.

Loving/Serving God & Others

Good Wednesday morning. The more we understand God's love for us the more love we'll show to others. We are loved by God and empowered by His Spirit to serve Him by serving others in countless ways each day through kind words and actions.

Who on our daily journey seems lonely or lost?
We can trust the Lord to enable us to bring them hope and compassion as we live and labor together for Him.

( Therefore love the stranger for you were strangers in the land of Egypt. Deuteronomy 10:19 ). Have a blessed day.

Pray First, Act Second

Good Tuesday morning. To stand up to any challenge, spend time on your knees. What do we do at the first sign of trouble? Most panic, some try and come up with a plan of action. When all we need to do is stop and pray. Take it to the Lord in prayer. When we pray, the Lord hears our words and knows our hearts.

Each day we face many challenges. Although there is no one-size-fits-all answer, our first action should always be to consult God. Our prayers become the avenue to a deeper relationship with Him. As He guides us, we can have confidence in Him. Then, whether the victory comes through His miraculous intervention or through His guidance, all the glory goes to God.

( Certainly God has heard me; He has attended to the voice of my prayer. Psalm 66:19 ). Have a blessed day.

No Need To Fear

Good Monday morning. When we believe that God is good, we can learn to release our fears. Irrational fears, or even legitimate ones, don't need to terrify us. Psalm 34 says, "I sought the Lord, and He answered me; He delivered me from all my fears."

Our Father in heaven is all-wise and all-loving. When fear starts to overwhelm us, we need to stop and remember that He is our God and He will always hold us
 up.

( I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, do not fear I will help you. Isaiah 41:13 ). Have a blessed day.

The Path Of The Lord Is Best

Good Sunday morning. Our paths may have obstacles, but God will lead us. There is a faithful saying: " All the ways of the Lord are loving and faithful toward those who keep the demands of His covenant." some of God's paths for us are rough and rugged, others tedious and boring, but all are filled with His love and faithfulness.

When we come to the end of our journey and know what we then will know, we will say, " God's path was best for me." ( Ask where the good way is, and walk in it and you will find rest for your souls. Jeremiah 6:16 ). Have a blessed day.

You Are Never Alone

Good Saturday morning. We are never alone. Kids are not the only ones who suffer from separation anxiety. In every stage of life we face times of separation from those we love. Separation can be from geographical distance or because of death. However, we need to remember that even if we feel forsaken by others, God hasn't forsaken us.

He has promised to be with us always. God sent the Spirit of truth our Advocate and Helper to dwell with us and in us forever. We are His beloved children. Though we can't see God's Spirit, we can feel His power as He encourages us and guides us each and every day. Let us thank God for His wonderful provision, the Spirit of Christ who is with us and in us. We are certainly never alone.

( I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever. John 14:16 ). Have a blessed day.

He Will Make You Strong

TGIF!!!!! God's call to a task includes His strength to complete it. We can easily dismiss ourselves as having little use to God because we feel we have nothing to offer. When God appeared to Moses and assigned him the task of telling the Israelites that He would deliver them from the Egyptians, Moses felt inadequate. He said to the Lord, "I have never been eloquent ... I am slow of speech and tongue." Perhaps Moses had some kind of speech impediment, or he was just afraid, but God overcame his inadequacy with His sufficiency.

I often compare myself to Moses in this way, I am afraid to speak in public or to a crowd, but give me a microphone and music and I'll sing all day long. It was prophesied that I would be doing a lot of writing in the future, well that was over three years ago and I have been writing daily on here ever since. I write my messages or sing them as God gives them to me.

I am still praying for the boldness and courage to get up and speak in front of people. With God I have overcome a lot. God told Moses, He would help him and give him the words to say. All God wants from us is to follow His plans. He will sort out the rest. In God's mighty hands we can be a blessing to others.

( Praise be to the Lord my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle. Psalm 144:1 ). Have a blessed day.

They Are One

Good Thursday morning. The name of Jesus is at the heart of our faith and our hope. To claim to believe in God and not in His Son Jesus Christ is a contradiction in terms.

In John 10:30, Jesus clearly describes the unique relationship between Himself and God: "I and the Father are one" thus establishing His deity. That is why He could say, " You believe in God; believe also in Me." We need not shy away from the name Jesus, for "salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved."

Jesus made it possible for us to know God when He took our sins on Himself, died on the cross, and rose again. Even now, Jesus is the go-between for us to a holy and perfect God. ( I am in the Father, and .....the Father is in me. John 14:10 ). Have a blessed day.

For This I Have Jesus

Good Wednesday morning. Life takes on perspective in the light of Christ. There is rarely a problem-free season in our lives, but sometimes the onslaught is terrifying. God knows exactly what you are facing today.

We may sometimes neglect the needs of others, even those who are closest to us, but God is aware of every detail of our lives. He has given us His Spirit to guide, to comfort, and to strengthen us. Think of the challenges you face at this moment, and then write these words beside each one as a reminder of His faithfulness and care: " For this I have Jesus."

Peace Of His Presence

Good Tuesday morning. Peace is the presence of God. In the terrifying moments of life nothing can bring comfort to the hurting heart like the reality of God's presence and care. When fear is overwhelming, the Lord is there.

His comforting presence will carry us through our deepest trials. ( Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; You rod and Your staff, they comfort me. Psalm 23:4 ). Have a blessed day.

Refuse To Sink In Life's Trials

Good Monday morning. The storms of life prove the strength of our anchor. No one is exempt from the storms of life. But just as the disciples who initially feared the storm later came to revere Christ more, so the storms we face can bring us to a deeper knowledge of God.

While we may not understand why God allowed trials to enter our lives, we thank Him that through them we can come to know who He is. We live to serve Him because He has preserved our lives.

( Through our trials we can learn that no storm is big enough to prevent GOD from accomplishing His will. Mark 5:1 ). Have a blessed day.

He Is Our Navigator Through Troubled Seas

Good Sunday morning. The living God will always be our shelter. Sometimes in life we have to navigate through seas of troubling circumstances. We need guidance and a place of safety. God is the one who can bring tranquility to troubled waters and guide us to safe harbors.

While no one asks for storms of life, they can multiply our appreciation for the guidance and refuge God provides. He offers the light of His Spirit and His Word to guide us. It is the safe harbor of His love that we long for. God is my "lighthouse".

( The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in Him. Nahum 1:7 ).

He Is Our Strength And Hope

Good Saturday morning. The light of salvation shines clearly even in the darkest night. When unspeakable tragedy shatters people's lives, they search for answers.

What does it all mean? There are no easy answers to such big concerns. But for those who have trusted Christ, there is hope whether we are basking in blessings or grinding through grief.

In the midst of tragedy, the power and beauty of our salvation can shine through because of our great Savior. And that may be just enough light to get a troubled person through another day.

Showing The Love And Compassion Of Jesus

TGIF!!! God will either spare you from suffering or give you the grace to bear it. Several acquaintances of mine have lost loved ones this week. Though we may face pain, sorrow and suffering, we don't have to sink into self-pity.

The same God who allows our suffering also showers us with His compassion and love. Christians have learned that they can use the trials they've been through to reach out to others going through similar difficulties. We are comforted by a Savior who knows our suffering, and we honour Him when we pass His comfort on to others. May we never leave someone to suffer alone. If we know the trail another is on, God will help us to guide that person to His presence, the surest comfort of all.

( As you are partakers of the sufferings, so also you will partake of the consolation. 2 Corinthians 1:7 ). Have a blessed day.

He Paid For All Our Griefs And Sorrows

Good Thursday morning. The Christ who died to give us life will carry us through its heartaches. We live in a fallen world and there is no easy recipe to follow that will ensure a life free of pain, loss, injustice, or suffering. In times of distress, however, people rarely remember what we say. What they most remember is that we were there. Familiar faces offer strength beyond description they provide comfort for the deep feelings of loneliness setting in from the loss.

In the midst of life's pain, we need the personal care of the Savior who lived in this world and experienced the same struggles we face. In loss of any kind, Jesus always gives His comforting presence, and we have the ability to give deeply of His compassion simply by the gift of our presence. Jesus knows there is no simple recipe to prevent the heartache of life, so He entered into them with us. Will we trust Him with our tears and grief?

What's In Your Heart?

Good Wednesday morning. The contents in your heart are more important than the outer packaging. It's what's on the inside that counts, regardless of how attractive the outside might be.

God looks at the heart. Wearing the right fashions and keeping ourselves looking young are of little importance if our hearts harbor greed, hatred, grumpiness, self-pity, and other counter-productive contents.

So, ask yourself: when others get past the packaging of my life , do they experience a heart full of healthy, Christ- honoring ingredients? By putting in grace, kindness, patience, and compassion, we will reflect the wonderful nature of Christ.

(Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life. Proverbs 4:23 ). Have a blessed day.

The Power Of God

Good Tuesday morning. All of God's promises are backed by His wisdom, love, and power. One aspect of God's glory is His almighty power. But how does he show His strength? He doesn't do it by rearranging the galaxies before our eyes, changing the color of the sun at a whim, or freezing a lightning bolt as a trophy to His strength.

Instead He shows love and compassion for needy people like ourselves. God has chosen to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him. God has chosen to demonstrate His strength to bless, preserve, and protect His people. Be assured that He delights in showing Himself strong in the challenges of our life.

( The eyes of the Lord run to and fro....to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him. 2 Chronicles 16:9 ).

Don't Miss It!

Good Monday morning. Lord, open our eyes that we may see. If there was a magnificent sunrise this morning, would I be too busy to enjoy it? Would I be preoccupied with other things and loose out on the moment? In the midst of the busyness and stresses of our days there are patches of beauty all around us, glimpses of God's goodness that we catch here and there along the way.

These are the places in the walls of the universe where heaven is breaking through if only we will take the time to stop and reflect upon God's love for us.

What if Moses had ignored the burning bush? He would have missed an epic life changing encounter with God. Sometimes in life we must hurry. But overall, life should be less hurrying and more noticing. Life is present. Life is being aware; it is seeing God's love breaking through. It is turning aside to the miracle of something like a sunrise. Something transitory, yet symbolic of the eternity that awaits us.

( Then Moses said, "I will now turn aside and see this great sight." Exodus 3:3 ).

He Is There

Good Sunday morning. The question is not where is God, but where isn't He? There are times when a dependable presence disappears. Something or someone we've relied on is gone, and our life is shaken. Maybe it's the loss of a loved one, or a job, or good health. The loss makes us feel off balance, unstable. We might even think God is no longer watching over us. But, the eyes of the Lord are always on us and He sees and hears all. God's presence is real. He continually watches over us. He is rock-solid.

( The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry. Psalm 34:15 ). Have a blessed day.

Love Like Jesus

Good Friday morning. Jesus shows us how to love. The Lord showed us true "everlasting love" in a public place. He displayed His love on the cross when He gave His life to provide forgiveness of sin. And He continues to show His love on a daily basis.

Salvation is not only a promise that we'll have eternity with God, but it is also a daily experience of forgiveness, assurance, provision, and grace in our relationship with Him. The love of our Father enables us to be patient and kind.

In His Son He has given us the ultimate example and means of loving one another forever. ( Walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us. Ephesians 5:2 ). Have a blessed day.

God Uses People Power

Good Thursday morning. We need each other to get to where God wants us to go. "People Power" is God's plan for building up His family. He has given each of us a special gift of His grace for the specific purpose that the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work. Every person has a job to do in God's family; there are no spectators. God gave each of us different talents and spiritual gifts to be used for His glory.

Wherever God has placed us we can use what He has gifted us to do as we see the need. We are not doing our work as a competition with others, but simply to carry our own load. God has equipped us to do just what He wants us to do. And that is not everything. It takes all of working together in unity. In God's family we weep and laugh together. We bear each others burdens. We pray for and encourage one another. We are at our best when we serve God from our hearts. God gave His very best to us, His Son, Jesus and we should honor Him by giving our best to Him.

( And He gave some, apostles; and some prophets; some evangelists; and some pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ. Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. Ephesians 4:11-13 ).
